Sustainability defined is the ability to meet our own needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own. At Botanical Propaganda, this is a conversation we have often to improve our current offerings, and the analysis is especially in depth during the R&D phase for new products.
We have made many posts over the years regarding #DitchTheBottle, and the importance of using Shampoo Bars to eliminate plastic bottles hitting the ocean. There is now 5.25 trillion macro and micro pieces of plastic in our ocean & 46,000 pieces in every square mile of ocean, weighing up to 269,000 tonnes. Every day around 8 million pieces of plastic makes their way into our oceans. (Source: https://www.condorferries.co.uk/plastic-in-the-ocean-statistics).
We would also like to create awareness and ask people to reconsider their daily shave routine. What if everyone stopped using Disposable Plastic Razors and shave cans? What impact would this little sacrifice have on the environment? We have wonderful options and make the case that this isn't a sacrifice, but a much better alternative!
Our All Natural Cold Process Shave Soap can help you #CanTheCan. We take great pride in the ingredient deck of this natural product: Coconut oil, Palm oil, Castor oil, Sunflower oil, Olive Oil, Cocoa butter, and Rosemary, spearmint and peppermint essential oils - for fragrance.
Of course we save several aerosal shave cans going to the landfill and applying dubious ingredients to your face, namely Propylene glycol (used in brake fluid and antifreeze). atsdr.cdc.gov/toxprofiles/tp189-c2.pdf. Many reasons to #CanTheCan.
We are also happy to offer premium quality Rockwell razors that can last a lifetime. Made from carefully selected, superior alloy for a long-lasting, rust-proof shaving tool. Clearly a way to eliminate plastic disposable razors ( and a lifetime of unnecessary packaging) from hitting the landfill, but we also believe these razors produce a much better shave!
Love your skin, love your planet!
